Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another service may receive it. By continuing to browse Mississippi County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or other direct message may be retained so our team can respond. We do not disclose that message outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers automatically receive routine technical details about the visit:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Device type and operating system
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Time spent on individual pages
  • The referring site, when one is provided

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure how visitors move through the site, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics services combine that traffic into broader reports. You can block cookies through the browser, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search request to the selected partner service
  • Finding and repairing technical problems
  • Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
  • Measuring which material readers use most
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies official Mississippi County custodians, such as the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a third-party record or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure rules apply to information submitted through those tools. We do not control those choices. Review the provider's terms before starting a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, legal resource, or outside search service. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Read that policy before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs on the provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:

  • Analytics services that measure traffic and site performance
  • Search partners handling a query submitted to their tool
  • Advertising networks placing ads on the pages
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's information is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Your Data Rights

Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide added rights based on where you live. Missouri's Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, governs records held by public bodies, while RSMo §43.500 and RSMo §43.506 define and govern repository criminal-history reporting. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a state custodian. For visitor data held by us, you may:

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Ask what personal data is held about you
  • Opt out of eligible forms of processing
  • Request deletion where applicable

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. An updated version and effective date will be posted here when practices change.
